Monthly Prayer Focus
2026
INTRODUCTION: As the Church of the Lakes, we have always valued prayer as a part of our church pillars along with worship, Bible reading and study, missions and outreach, and fellowship with one another. We have an effective prayer chain and offer opportunities for prayer on Sunday mornings, during our Bible Studies and other special events – and we don’t want to stop any of the good things we are already doing. However, for 2026, we would like to encourage the church to increase our emphasis and participation in prayer as individuals, families, couples, and as a church congregation. We want to go deeper. We would like for “Pray for one another” to become our rallying call for the year. In this effort to increase our focus on prayer, we will be sharing a brief scripture each month and a topic to ponder, study, and focus on for the month. Our encouragement as leadership is simply to light a flame for each person. We trust the Holy Spirit to lead each of us as to what to do and what this will mean in our lives. Some of you may want to really dig into the scriptures and get more immersed. Others may simply take the encouragement and pray about it, that the Lord will make prayer a bigger or more consistent part of your life. Some of you may already be “prayer warriors.” We hope you will continue to be that and teach others around you how they can grow in their prayer lives and the value of that. We believe there are many untapped heavenly blessings awaiting the Church simply because we
“ask not.”
