Baptism

Baptism is a personal statement of faith. It symbolizes what has taken place in your heart, meaning you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and you are ready to publicly identify with Him.

Q: If I was baptized as a baby, do I need to be baptized again?

A: Sprinkling a baby is a sign of the parents commitment. Your choice to be baptized is an expression of your adult commitment to Christ. The Bible shows this pattern in the book of Acts, hearing the gospel, believing and repenting and then getting baptized.

Q: If I want to re-dedicate my life to Christ, do I need to be baptized again?

A: If your original baptism was Christian, as a step in obedience to what the Bible says, then you do not need to be baptized again.

Q: I was baptized before I really turned my life over to Christ. Should I be baptized again?

A: Yes. The Bible says to repent, believe and then be baptized.

Q: Where do you perform baptisms?

A: The beach at Cordry-Sweetwater Lake.

Q: When do you perform baptisms?

A: Whenever you are ready. Simply contact Pastor Jon at jonlucas.cotl@gmail.com or call the office 317-933-2595.
